A. Mark Smith A. Mark Smith received his PhD in medieval history and history of science from the University of Wisconsin in 1976. Since then, he has taught at Brandeis University, the University of California, Riverside, and the University of Missouri. During the past 21 years he has been engaged in critically editing Alhacen’s De aspectibus and has been publishing the results according to topical focus, books 1–3 on visual perception in general (published in 2001), books 4–5 on the principles of reflection (published in 2006), book 6 on image-distortion in reflection (in press), and book 7 on refraction (in progress). |
